State Sen. and KC Chair candidate Chris Lauzen has to be the luckiest white man alive. How many politicians could possibly have the good fortune of facing off against two opponents who’s idea of political strategy is to emulate a kamikaze pilot.
During yesterday’s county chair debates, opponent and Republican plant Sue Klinkhamer made the following points:
1. She might raise the county property tax levy.
2. We need a professional county administrator.
3. The department heads that got those 50% pension bumping raises from Ms. McConnaughay deserved them.
Call me crazy, but if I’m actually in it to win it, the last thing I’m gonna do is take three pages out of GOP primary candidate Kevin Burn’s playbook – especially after he couldn’t even pull in 30% of the vote.
So this fascinating development has to mean one of two things:
1. Sue is dumber than that bag of rocks we used in the Jim Oberweis analogy, or
2. She’s desperately angling for a job with the incoming McConnaughay State Senatorial administration. Ms. Klinkhamer certainly is Ms. McConnaughay’s chief apologist these days.
The fact that she was seen post debate glad handing with Mike Kenyon and Ken Shepro probably says it all.
