This is the December 31, 2015 edition of Left, Right and You!

We hope you enjoyed (or will enjoy) our second annual top local news stories of the past year as much as we did. All I can say is, great minds think alike.

And please don’t forget the great Left, Right and You write up in Bravo Magazine. My favorite quote is: “The Kane County Chronicle is like Malcom Crowe in the ‘Sixth Sense:’ they’re dead, but they don’t know it yet.”

Thank you all for making this a great Left, Right and You 2015! Until next year…

Close out the year with Left, Right and You!

We’re heading into those final 2015 hours folks, and the Smiling Conservative and I are gonna bring it all home!

But before we get into our independently compiled top 2015 local news stories lists, we’ll  cover one of the worst pieces of journalism to which I’ve ever borne witness. Just when you think the Daily Herald can’t possibly sink any lower they manage to slide way under the bar one more time!

With that out of the way, Larry and I will review all those Elgin area news stories that, for better or worse, had an impact on our listeners last year.

2016

That’s Left, Right and You, Mondays at 9 a.m. and Thursdays at 3 p.m. with the Smiling Conservative, Larry Jones, and me, the Curmudgeonly Liberal, on WRMN AM1410. Don’t miss it!

This is the December 28, 2015 edition of Left, Right and You!

Despite some fine efforts on the part of Carl Schoedel and KDOT and the fine snow removal folks in Elgin, DO NOT GO OUT THERE. Not only are the increasing winds are making driving much more difficult, but they’re blowing away all the salt.

With that caveat issued, I can’t tell you how much fun it was to have Larry back on a Monday. We had a great conversation about local Christians’ failure to live up to the standard they tend to thrust upon everyone else! Wheaton College never fails to disappoint me.

Thursday! We’ll cover our top ten local news stories of 2016 and you know Smiling Conservative always seems to conjure up some fascinating list points.

Until then…

This is the December 21, 2015 edition of Left, Right and You!

Thanks to our cogent callers (Larry, Pete and Kurt), we didn’t quite get to everything thins morning, but we sure had fun along the way!

Remember, we’re off Thursday, but we’ll be back on the 28th to catch up on why neither Wheaton College nor Campton Hills being nearly as Christian as they claim to be.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, our New Year’s Eve show will cover the top 10 local news stories of 2015!

Until then…

This is the December 17, 2015 edition of Left, Right and You!

And we did cover it all despite one rather complex topic. But why listen to me when you can listen to the show:

Larry and I want to thank Pete for calling in and making us explain the Anna Moeller petition challenge a little bit better. In addition We also discussed the eternal Gasthaus/Tower Building lawsuit, and the Kane County Coroner’s sudden budgetary acumen.

Until Monday…

Eternal lawsuits, a petition challenge, and a Festivus miracle on Left, Right and You!

With the Smiling Conservative back in the studio we will be covering:

  • Why the former Gasthaus owner is more persistent than your average Jame Bond villian.
  • How an Elgin petition challenge proves that Tea Partiers don’t believe a word they say.
  • How the Kane County Coroner suddenly balanced his budget! Was it a holiday miracle or the fact that he has a primary opponent?
  • And your calls at 847-931-1410.

The only media outlet that accurately covers and analyzes local news is Left, Right and You, Mondays at 9 a.m. and Thursdays at 3 p.m. with the Smiling Conservative, Larry Jones, and me, the Curmudgeonly Liberal, on WRMN AM1410.

This is the December 14, 2015 edition of Left, Right and You!

And the Amazing Derek and I covered it all!

We bid our condolences to the family of the late Aurora Police Commander Joe Groom and discussed:

  • Sports! Particularly the Cubs’ recent signings
  • How LR&Y supersub Kurt Kojzared was actually right for once
  • Kane County traffic roundabouts
  • Why blinking yellow left turn arrows still aren’t working
  • Will Rahm Emanuel remain Mayor of Chicago
  • A specious petition challenge
  • And more!

Until Thursday!
