Cathy Hurlbut is making headlines in two states!

And none of them are good. If you recall, she’s attempting to single-handedly take down The Cove, a swanky 220 unit vacation resort in Lake Geneva. And Cove board president Hurlbut is doing a bang up job.
Lake Geneva Times reporter Bob Peryea caught up with our intrepid Kane County board member and did an excellent story on her latest Wisconsin exploits. You can read that piece here. Please note how she and the board have provided absolutely no accounting of where all the unit owners’ money has gone.
For those of us who’ve had to deal with her highness on a regular basis, the quotes are classic Hurlbut. My favorite is, “There is no evidence that documents were not sent.” Say what? So PNC bank suddenly has to prove that you didn’t send them? Apparently Ms. Hurlbut hasn’t heard of Certified Mail.
Even she doesn’t believe a word she’s saying.
In addition, according to a number of Cove unit owners, the WiFi has been turned off for lack of payment, the phones will soon follow suit and, even though the entire facility is booked for this weekend, the court appointed receiver is  considering shutting The Cove down because the board failed to pay the liability insurance bill.
All I can say is it’s hard to believe Ms. Hurlbut could actually top her Kane County performance. Why am I suddenly getting a vision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections welcoming our favorite county board member with open arms?
