Upon reading Thursday’s First Ward column on KC County Board candidate Eric Stare’s lengthy rap sheet, one of my favorite Republican insiders remarked thusly; “Jeff! That column was hilarious. I don’t think you’re gonna be able to top that one.”
Though he regularly reads my magnificent pose, my friend has clearly apparently failed to heed my counsel admonishing folks for issuing declarations like the following:
- Hold my beer!
- Nothing can top this!
- You can’t make this shit up; and
- You won’t believe this one!
because they’ve been rendered utterly obsolete in the Trump era. And just to prove that point, I’m going to top the Stare expose a mere three days after it ran.
Kane County Republican Chairman Andro Lerario, the MAGA maniac who whines endlessly about:
- Me
- Me on the radio
- Me in print
- State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser
- People stealing signs
- Democrats
- Me
- Any criticism against him
- Any criticism against the party
- Businesses that won’t put up Republican signs
- Me
- And just about anything else he can bitch about
owes the IRS $44,093.87 in back taxes. Yes! You read that right. He’s 44 grand in arrears. And that kind of thing takes real skill.
Worse yet, he’s ignored that 2019-21 debt for so long that, as of September 16, those exasperated Treasury folks are moving to summarily seize his Campton Hills residence. Well…not exactly. Though it was certainly fun to say it, the IRS rarely forecloses these days.
The truth is, per the plethora of radio ads, today’s IRS prefers to work with taxpayers to resolve these issues as amicably as possible. But Lerario, who clearly believes he’s above the law, let the debt fester for so long that the IRS filed the attached federal tax lien just to make a point:
They may not be confiscating his house anytime soon, but I hope Mr. Lerario has no plans to relocate, either.
May I once again remind you that Mr. Lerario was Treasurer Chris Lauzen’s handpicked Party Chairman. And trust me, if a KC Democrat faced a similar fiscal fiasco, he’d make damn sure it was front page news. So much for vetting your candidates, right? The only person who’s done more to destroy the once-proud Republican Party is the Grand Cheeto himself.
Don’t forget, this is the guy that Kane County Chronicle “reporter” Brenda Schory leapt into bed with just to get BS stories like perfectly legal political contributions from Blackjack’s Gentlemen’s Club. If newspapers were people the Chronicle would be a pimp, and that would make Brenda a… Oops! I almost forgot that this is a family blog.
As for Lerario, he’s just another flippin’ MAGA blowhard snowflake who refuses to believe that good faith, common decency, and the law apply to him. If he wasn’t already, now he’s just another Republican laughingstock, right along with his mentor, the Treasurer.
I almost want to ask, when it comes to Kane County Republicans, what could they possibly do next? But I don’t think I want to know.
