Suicide prevention is a great cause

My good friend and former Enrichment Coordinator for D304 extraordinaire, Judy Rhoads (formerly Hart), serves on the board of Suicide Prevention Services. As you might imagine, like most social service agencies, they’re suffering from a severe case of financial stress.
To that end, Judy pledged to raise $2,500 and as you can see from her fundraising page, she’s within striking distance.
I’m sure you’re not surprised to learn the suicide rate in this country just hit a 15-year high. It’s the 10th leading cause of death for 15  to 24 year-olds, the 8th leading cause of death overall, and nearly 1 million people attempt suicide  every year.
The thing is, the vast majority of these folks make some sort of attempt to get help before they go through with it. So let’s do our best to make sure sure that help is available.
Judy is one of those rare individuals who actually contributes to my sanity as opposed to all the folks who regularly challenge what’s left of it. So please make me look good by contributing what you can.
Thank you!
