Larry and I hope whatever prevented Elgin Police Chief Jeff Swoboda from joining the show wasn’t terribly serious. Hopefully we’ll get him on in the future to talk about the EPD’s ongoing crime prevention efforts. Both Larry and I loved the whole conducting Craigslist business in the police department lobby effort because it nips a growing problem in the bud!
Then we had a fascinating conversation on TIFs, or Tax Increment Financing districts, using the Carpentersville – East Dundee Walmart fracas to illustrate the pitfalls involved. That one’s going all the way to the Illinois Supreme Court so we will certainly keep you posted.
