On my way to my morning run, I saw this swath of color in the western sky at 7:30 a.m. last Sunday from the Breen Park parking lot in St. Charles. It clearly wasn’t a sun dog nor was it any kind of rainbow.
It was almost completely overcast and the sun had only been up for 1.5 hours so, though it was obscured by the clouds, it wasn’t very high in the sky. There were no visible rainstorms on the horizon either. Does anyone know what the heck I saw?
