The plague is here to stay
Which is exactly what we’ve been saying for the duration. So, why is it so shocking that, after a steep decline in new cases we get a dead cat new case bounce because some idiots refuse to get vaccinated? Even then, the number of more contagious Delta variant cases pales in comparison to those early 2020 plague days.
Despite vast evidence to the contrary, the fear pandering persists because news outlets don’t get nearly as many hits for telling the truth and those progressive fascist and remarkably unremarkable public health officials are addicted to the power the plague has conferred upon them.
Really? That vapid Anthony Fauci just told the press that vaccinated American might have to start wearing makes again because the unvaccinated morons are dropping like flies. Good luck with that, sir! And BTW, that’s a great way of encouraging folks NOT to get vaccinated. Why bother if there’s no social benefit.
I’ll say it ag again! We will be contending with the plague for decades to come, and as far as unvaccinated folks are concerned, it’s time to let natural selection take its course.
To sum it up in one sentence, this is the fifth pandemic my lifetime and it certainly won’t be the last.
False Evidence Appearing Real
The progressive nanny staters just loved to shout “follow the science” whenever the Grand Cheeto issued yet another preposterous plague proclamation, but ain’t it amazing how they’re suddenly so willing to ignore the science when it doesn’t support their political pandering possibilities
To wit, despite all of the CDC and real-world evidence indicating the coronavirus cannot be transmitted outdoors, nitwit Tribune columnist Rex Huppke recently wrote that Lollapalooza was gonna be an abominable and inevitable “superspreader event.”
The George Floyd protests have long since disproved this bullshit, and when Huppke turns out to be dead wrong AGAIN, it won’t stop him from spewing more of that bovine manure the very next time he feels the need to cry wolf just so he feels important.
Then there’s the who school mask controversy.
MASKS DON’T WORK! Or more specifically, the masks the public generally employs are patently pointless. Neck gaiters don’t work, bandanas don’t word, and those common cloth masks are barely better than nothing.
Don’t believe me? Then check out the warning label on the packaging of the next mask you buy. You’ll quickly note it reads something like this:

The “cure” did turn out to be far worse than the disease
Let’s add up the lockdown, social distancing, and needless isolation cost:
- Overdose deaths soared during the pandemic hitting a record 93,000 in 2020 – a 30 percent increase over the previous year.
- In a report just issued by the CDC, early 2021 ER visits as a result of suspected female teenage suicide attempts increased 50 percent over the same 2020 period.
- According to this news story, “The pandemic has pushed children’s mental health and access to care to a ‘crisis point.’” It’s a truly terrifying read.
Though every death is tragic, just 337 children aged 0 to 17 have died from causes “involving” COVID-19 so far, while as The First Ward has repeatedly reported, pediatric deaths (480) during the 13-week 2018-19 flu season were 42 percent higher. And the pandemic has been with us five times longer than that flu.
So please tell me, where were all the calls for mask wearing and lockdowns in 2018? Were those children somehow less significant?
We are NOT responsible for your poor choices
Again, no one should die for the sin of being old, and as I’ve insisted since the beginning of this idiocy, we should’ve moved to better protect our senior citizens the second those early Italian death toll numbers started coming in.
But, once again, far beyond that at-risk group, 78 percent of Americans who were hospitalized, put on ventilators, or died from the disease were overweight or obese – 25 and 52 percent respectively.
My formerly hyperactive thyroid is dying, and after a lifetime of eating whatever I wanted, just observing food puts on the pounds. Though it certainly hasn’t been easy, since the alternative is so perilous to my health, I’ve drastically changed my eating habits.
The bottom line is, if you refuse to put the fork down and take care of yourself by making the minimal effort to mitigate the single biggest COVID risk factor, then what makes you think the rest of us are somehow obligated to take care of you?
To make matter SO much worse, according to the University of Massachusetts Medical News, 97 percent of current COVID hospitalizations consist of unvaccinated bleeps who are clearly too stupid to live – literally. Evan Republican governors are bucking the GOP script by insisting their constituents get vaccinated.
And if Mr. Fauci thinks this writer is gonna start re-wearing a mask to protect people bent on self-destruction, in the words of those great philosophers Judas Priest, “He’s got another thing coming.”
Once again, it’s time to let natural selection take its course and cull all the stupid people from the herd. There certainly are more than enough of ‘em.
