And the Smiling Conservative and I covered it all!
Congratulations to the Pingree Grove City Council for winning the first ever Left, Right and You craziest governing body Rookie Of the Year award. If Mayor Wiedmeyer and Councilman Lamarca keep it up, they’ll take the crown from Carpentersville before you know it!
And shame on the Courier-News for running racist rants. I really thought the Tribune Company was better than this and I would encourage the 20 people who still have Courier-News subscriptions to immediately cancel them.
We also covered the Elgin Tower Building lawsuit part II, and the Kane County Coroner’s latest follies.
Monday, Elgin Police Chief Jeff Swoboda fills in for Larry as we discuss some of the in-the-press issues facing police departments these days. Until then…
That’s right! I’m officially nominating the Pingree Grove City Council as the craziest governing body in all of Kane County. Sorry Carpentersville Village Board, but your streak had to end someday! We’re hoping councilman Ray LaMarca will accept the award on behalf of Mayor Wiedmeyer.
And just when did the Courier-News start running anonymous racists rants in the paper? Apparently this summer! I’d ask you to cancel your subscription, but I’m sure you already have.
Then the Smiling Conservative and I have the scoop on the Tower Building lawsuit part II. This one has even less merit than the first, but that won’t stop the Muscarellos because nothing will.
To wrap things up, we’ll talk about the Kane County Coroner’s unilateral decision to review every single case closed by the late Chuck West. I’m sure all of the law enforcement agencies involved in those cases are just thrilled by this revelation. But don’t worry! Pretty soon, the coroner won’t have anyone left to alienate.
That’s Left, Right and You, Mondays from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. with the Smiling Conservative, Larry Jones, and me, the Surly Liberal, on WRMN AM1410. Be there or be square.
We went a little astray today what with national politics and all – particularly the presidential candidate of both parties – but as long as no one tells Larry, I’ll be OK!
And, by the way, I’d like to thank Producer Dave Weiser for filling for Larry and man-about-Elgin J. Koko for providing insights from the Bernie Sanders rally in Madison, Wisconsin. I also want to thank Pete for calling in with one of his typically cogent comments.
I may have also predicted the outcome of the 2016 scramble for the White House, but you’ll have to listen to the show for that.
The Smiling Conservative will be back in the studio on Thursday when we’ll get right back to local issues like the recently refiled Elgin Tower Building lawsuit. Until then…
With the Smiling Conservative out till Thursday, Producer Dave Weiser and I are going to violate that LR&Y prime directive by going national! That’s right! We’re gonna talk about the crowded Republican presidential field and how car driver Donald Trump has already dashed any GOP White House hopes.
We’ll also cover Hillary’s chances and we might even discuss the Iran nuclear deal. As usual your on-topic calls are welcome at 847-931-1410.
That’s Left, Right and You, Mondays from 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. with the Smiling Conservative, Larry Jones, and me, the Surly Liberal, on WRMN AM1410. Trust me – it doesn’t get any better than this folks!
First, please let me thank County Board member Kurt Kojzarek for so graciously filling in for Larry today. We always enjoy having Kurt on the show. As promised, we discussed the latest U46 school board meeting, the probable demise of the Longmeadow Loons and the appellate court throwing out five of the counts against Rod Blagojevich.
Kurt and Elissa Kojzarek
And there’s much more local news to discuss so we’ll see you on Monday. Until then…
Holy crap! With the Smiling Conservative hyped up on copious doses of caffeine, we actually accomplished quite a bit today! Please consider the U-46 curriculum issue, the Elgin Tourism Bureau issue and the Longmeadow Loon issue completely closed. But why listen to me when you can listen to the show for yourself!
Thursday! County Board member and political pundit extraordinaire will fill in for Larry and we’ll be discussing everything Kane County! Until then…
